If we shrunk the world's population to 1000 people. There would be.

570 Asians

210 Europeans

140 from the western hemisphere (north and south)

80 Africans

520 would be female

480 would be male

700 nonwhite 300 white

59% of the world's wealth would be in the hands of 60 people.

800 would live in substandard housing

700 could not read

500 would  suffer from malnutrition

Only 10 would have a college education

Only 10 would have a computer

Not yet figured, how many will have a garden tractor.

What a coincidence!

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.

John F Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Lincoln was elected President in 1860.

Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

The names Kennedy and Lincoln each have seven letters.

Both were concerned with civil rights.

Both lost children to death while living at the White House.

Both were shot on a Friday in the presence of their wives.

Both were shot from behind.

Lincoln's secretary's name was Kennedy.

Kennedy's secretary's name was Lincoln.

Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson who succeeded Lincoln was born in 1808.

Lyndon Johnson who succeeded Kennedy was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.

Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy was born in 1939.

Both were known by their three names.

Both names are composed of 15 letters.

Lincoln was shot at a theater named Ford.

Kennedy was shot in a car named Lincoln.

Booth ran from the theater and was caught in a warehouse.

Oswald ran from a warehouse and was caught in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were both killed before their trials.

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland.

A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

I don't understand how JFK was with Marilyn Monroe a week before he died, didn't she die months before him?

Pretty impressive coincidences there..if they are genuine :)

Crazy Lawsuits!

January 2000

A jury in Texas awarded $780,000 to a lady who broke her ankle tripping over a toddler who was running in a furniture store. The owners of the store were understandably surprised at the verdict, considering the little toddler was her son.

June 1998

A 19 year old from LA won $74,000 and medical expenses when his neighbor ran over his hand with a Honda Accord. The young man apparently failed to notice there was someone at the wheel of the car, when he tried to steal the hubcaps.

October 1998

A man was leaving a house he had just finished robbing by way of the garage. He was not able to get the garage door to open due to a malfunctioning opener. He could not reenter the house because he had locked and closed that door. The family was on vacation. He found himself locked in the garage for 8 days. He subsisted on a case of pepsi and a large bag of dog food. He sued the homeowners association claiming the situation caused him undue mental anguish. The jury agreed to the tune of a half million.

October 1999

A man in Arkansas was awarded $14,500 and medical expenses after being bit by his neighbor's beagle. The beagle was on a chain in his owners fenced in yard. The award was considerably less than sought because the jury felt that the dog might have been provoked by the neighbor repeatedly shooting it with a BB gun.

November 2000

An Oklahoma man purchased a brand new thirty two foot Winnebago motor home. On his first trip as he joined the freeway traffic, he set the cruise control at 70 MPH and calmly went back to make a cup of coffee. Not surprising the Winnie left the freeway, crashed and overturned. He sued Winnebago for not advising him in the handbook that he could not do this. He was awarded $1,750,000 plus a new Winnie. Winnebago has changed their hand book since this case because there might be likeminded people buying again.

This is quite possible.  I found all of these in a biweekly paper that I thought was a straight talker. I found it interesting and thought I would share, just didn't think to research it before I posted.
