Looks to be a great deal. I am not a Case guy either. But I am sure one of our Case experts will be here to help soon.

Half of the asking price is hanging on the back of the newer 446, so needless to say, that is a "Great Deal" and if I was in the market I'd be on my way for them

P.S. From what I see asking price close to 2K would be reasonable.

That's a great deal! In my area just 1 of them goes for the asking price.

If you brought those to Minneapolis, you could get $1,000-$1,200 for the older one with just the deck and and probably $1,400-$1,600 for the other with just the tiller.

I concur with the sentiments previously shared. I paid around that price here in Maine for a 1971 444 with a tiller, mower and blower. To give you some perspective, if the lights on the older 446 are in great shape (and are Speaker 777s) a set of those can run between $50-$100 depending on the seller and the site. Case tractors are great running machines. Let us know if you end up making a purchse.

Well, I called the guy earlier and he said he has a guy from Bismarck coming to see them tomorrow.  So he kind of committed already.  Am disappointed.  Although he did say the newer one of the two starts to smoke after you run it for around half hour or so.  If he shuts it down and lets it cool off it is okay for another round before it starts smoking again.  Wonder what's up with that?  Bad PCV, perhaps?  Who knows.  Maybe the other guy won't show up?  Fingers are crossed on this one.  Then again, maybe it wasn't meant to be.

Most likely reed valves or breather wool(steel), engine cooling system dirty ,valve adjustment, Too bad you waited, I'll be surprised if the "other" guy doesn't take them home.

Actually, I did not wait.  I did not see the ad until Sat.  He had already talked to the guy on Friday.  Oh well.  Heavy sigh!
