You might want to find some way to mark that cover. Maybe a tall pole or something that the weeds wont grow over. Electrocuting a tractor would be a bad thing.

Yeah you gotta love a mystery!! When I was 15, Dad took on a job mowing weeds behind the Parsons Company. Parsons Company built the first Ladder Trencher. The weeds were over your head sitting on a BF Avery Model A when my brother and I went over to mow..  It took my brother and I 4 hrs to plank the Front end(single Front wheel) out of a hidden trench.  When Dad got paid for the job he charged them the hours it took to get the tractor out and told them not to call him again unless they filled all their test trenches.

Did that job a couple times every summer for several years and never again found an open trench.
