Superior does Eaton and Vickers along with others, I think. Ways away from you, though. (Superior, Wi)

Superiorhydraulicrepair.com I think.

www.bjhydraulics.com  I have talked to the old man/BJ and he was the one who built the first two Eaton 12s.

What are you looking at to be done to it just resealed or a 100% rebuild were all worn parts are fixed aswell.

bj no longer does this type of work.. they sold all their parts and such a while ago. i also talked with the guy who built them at eaton. looking for a 100% rebuild or a rebult one. i might need parts in the rear as well.

Is it bad? Resealing it may be all it needs.

it is making some wierd noises in the rear but it only makes the noise when either going in forward or reverse and when you really push the go pedal. i don't think it made those noises as bad until i pulled the rear axle out to replace my steering bridge.

PM the guys name to me as well, please.  My 1886s tranny makes the pedal "shudder" when I press it to move forward or backward... a friend who rebuilds hydros for the city says that there's fluid leaking somewhere and causing some type of back pressure...

Thanks,

We Just got done doing a rebuild on the Eaton 12 in the 1886-03 with FEL plus makeing a new drive shaft and adding a fan.

There simple to do If you pop them open and the guts are in good shape. When the guts are bad your into finding stuff that may mean finding another rear for parts were lucky to have 5 parts Eaton 12s laying around.
