I bought an old bolens with a tra12d on it how does the ignition system work. It is a solid state. Ps tractor has sat outside for many years with no hood wiring is destroyed.

Solid state ignition is simple: it works or it don't.  You will have one wire running to it, for a ground.  It should spark with no wires connected, and not spark if the one wire is touching the frame.

I'm assuming Bolens TRA12 works the same way.  Correct me if I'm wrong.

Is there any way to make my own ignition system.
