Several GT's on this one, I'm checking it out early tomorrow before they start:

I would be interested in the JD X485 AWS with the 62" deck, but the Ariens GT 18 might be in my budget range:

Bring a trailer that will only fit one tractor. Then, you will win both!  Good Luck, Rick

They are both nice tractors. That is a nice blower included with the Ariens.

If I remember correctly, aren't the blowers for these 48" wide? If so, I guess the rear blade and the mower deck are 48" also.

The mower deck were made in 42" 48" and in 60". I think the later years the 48" was the most popular. That is what I guessed from the picture.

In that case, I'm going to guess the deck is a 42". The left side of the deck is lined up with the left side of the blower in the second pic, but you can't see any part of the mower deck in the third pic where it shows the right side.

P.S. try to get the aluminum foil hat that goes with it too :D

Okay, the deck is the 42". The input shaft bearing on the gear box is shot. The whole underside of the tractor is caked with grease and oil. From the gearbox or the engine? I dunno! I'm going to pass on that, the small deck would make a hard re-sell. The snowblower with it, however, could possibly be the nicest used blower I've ever laid my eyes on. Nearly perfect.

I picked up a Brinly aerator-seeder for $35 and a Honda mini tiller for $70. Both in very good condition. The seeder sells for just over $200 new and the tiller is $275 new.

Item 419 is a JD 525 front deck/rear steer mower with a 48" deck. Excellent condition with 440 hours. If that goes for less than a grand that will be a bargain.
