I haven't brought them home as yet, but I bought 2 more Sears GT's this weekend. One is a GTV/16 with the B&S 16 HP engine (just like Big Bertha). But I noticed something different about it. It has a cast iron front axle, mine has the stamped steel axle. Thought that was odd.

The second one is a Craftsman III with 20 HP and electric lift. Been trying to figure out what brand that engine is. Too many tins on the engine to see anything. There is a sticker on the flywheel housing, but unable to make out anything on it. Just has Craftsman 20HP decals on the head tins. Don't have pics as yet.

I hope to bring them home next weekend. For now this is all the pics I have:

Nice find. I think that the Craftsman III should have an Onan engine in it.

Thats what I was wondering, doesnt look the same as the middle one in the others, the Craftsman 3 is probably a 20hp briggs twin

Nice find Kenny, I'd bet the 3 has either a briggs or Kohler. Odds are Briggs.

I think its a briggs as well, the last one I had was really hard to tell, seems like the ID was hard to find or I was missing tin

We do not know what this tractor is. I'll probably post a 'What is it?' thread on it soon!

Does B&S make a 20 HP with an oil filter on it?

Congrats Kenny? What are your plans for them?

I am not sure what the middle one is, but the fenders, and the storage area between them looks familiar!

They will be mostly donors. I hope I can get them to run as the engines are what I need for other tractors.

Great set of Craftsman GT's you got there Kenny!   Way to go Buddy!

At first look the middle one looks to be a early 60's Wheel Horse with a lot of mods to it, but the more I look I think it's not a WH.

Its not a intek, it may be a opposed B&S twin just like the 14, 16,18 engines, the 20 hp Briggs opposed twin is very rare, not saying thaats what is in this, but I think it originally came with a Briggs, not a kohler, i could be wrong, but if you get the 917 number from the tractor we can tell. I dont think all the Briggs twins had filters, maybe none, is so that engine would be a kohler, mabe an Onan (not likely) but if its a kohler 20, it could be a repower.
