Here are some pics I took of a Bearcat walk behind at a local show over 3 different years. It is in very good cosmetic shape but has been repowered by a Briggs I C engine. I believe that the rest of the paint and decals are original...Dave

That's not the original decal, here's the one I found and some rebuild pictures and a link.

I Guarantee mine was original as found. The wheel weights were red, and mine has a Lauson TLC motor.bearcat improv.jpg bearcat1.jpg 1-24-14-tractor 002.jpg

I would agree your decal looks more like the originals I've seen but they were more common to be seen on the outside of the belt guard instead of on the inside. Did yours have any evidence of a decal on the front outside like the previous picture?

The same decal was on both sides of the belt/gear shield. This is the best picture I have, I'm looking for a better picture of the 'bearcat' I saw somewhere else so I can get it reproduced. Still looking,Thanks

Here's the almost finished Bearcat, all I need is a good picture of the bearcat logo.

Here is the Bearcat photo you need to make the decals. When you get them made, I would like a couple for mine. Also the ID numbers on my steel wheel 1946 are stamped on the right side rail towards the front. Most Bearcats I have seen had originally had decals on the inside and outside of the Belt cover. Hope this helps you out.Bearcat decal head.JPG

One more thing: I agree with Doug as far as I know there were not any 4 wheel products from Ellinwood Ind. but they did make a single wheel, 1 hp Tomcat, a 1 1/2 hp  2 wheel Bobcat and a 2 wheel Bearcat at 2 1/3 hp in 1946. I have saw more with the Lauson engines than any other, a few with Briggs and a few with a Continental and I saw one in Iowa with the original Ellinwood engine. I have the Lauson on mine.

Thanks for the pictures,  yup the i.d. on the rail on mine is 47- 3-2757. I heard that the first digits are the year, any idea how many were made? Still working on the decals, will keep in touch.
