Hello, I just found this forum and just cant stop reading.  My question...I am going to look at a 1968 1050 tubeframe tomorrow as I have finally decided to purchase a piece of history to restore.  From what I can see, it is in fair condition for the age but I am a little worried.  The engine is a Wisconsin TRA-10D.  These are pretty tough from what I understand, but I cant seem to source any parts for them via the internet.  The current owner says it doesn't run because it doesn't have very good compression.  That sounds like a simple rebuild could have it like new again.  I am sure a piston and rings is in order, does anyone know of anyplace that has engine parts like this available.  Are they still available over the counter at the local (not sure how local yet) Bolens / Wisconsin dealer.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

Welcome to GTT

Most parts for the TRA series are still available.

Your best bet is probably online suppliers as most of the local Lawn and garden dealers no longer carry or stock the Wisconsin parts as there is not the demand there used to be.

If you have any questions , just ask!

Lots of Bolens guys here :D
