According to the criminal complaint, Keith Walendowski said he was angry because his Lawn Boy wouldn't start. He told police, 'I can do that, it's my lawn mower and my yard so I can shoot it if I want.'

MILWAUKEE — A 56-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of shooting his lawn mower because it wouldn't start.

Keith Walendowski has been charged with felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle and misdemeanor disorderly conduct while armed.
According to the criminal complaint, Walendowski says he was angry because his Lawn Boy wouldn't start Wednesday morning. He told police: "I can do that, it's my lawn mower and my yard so I can shoot it if I want."
A woman who lives at Walendowski's house reported the incident. She says he was intoxicated.
Walendowski could face up to an $11,000 fine and six years and three months in prison if convicted.
A call to Walendowski's home went unanswered Friday.

I don't agree with shooting a lawn-mower. I do agree that it's his property & should be able to shoot the damn thing if he wants, but not with an illegal firearm.

I have a short fuse at times but have never shot a mower. My old push mower did receive a few kicks with my boot when the rascal wouldn't start. Would never do that to any of my Bolens even when they were difficult to start. The good thing is, George has them fine tuned and they start like they should. Now the guy that shot his TV when Bristol Palin was allowed to continue on Dancing With the Stars (which my wife LOVES) he has my vote as MAN OF THE YEAR !

He should have the right to shoot his Mower as long as there aren't any ricochets.
I spend a lot of money on ammo to prepare a new burning barrel to get it to burn just right.
They don't ever try to come around when I do that. Some time the neighbour will even help from his yard. He can make BIGGER holes than my 22 but it make the job go faster and I have to buy the Beer.

I don't think the Gov. should have the right to decide what an illegal firearm is! A sawed-off is the perfect home protection weapon. I have a problem with the intoxicated part!

Does he buy the beer when you shoot up HIS burn barrel LOL?

Well, it was a cookie cutter mtd, so it probably deserved it. :Big Grin:
That S.B.R. wouldn't have been illegal if he'd got the tax stamp for it, but using it intoxicated for a non-defensive purpose is not only dumb, but still a felony. On the other hand, dumb people doing dumb things is good entertainment. :poke:

You can just tell that fella is such a value to society! More a case of him being drunk AND armed that locked his butt up. I'd bet even sober, he could count his IQ number on his fingers....if he can count that high!
