I just got a 1972 JD 110 with a bad kohler motor.  I plan on rebuilding it over the winter, but i wonder if i could temporarly put a honda 5hp ohc motor to get me through the rest of the grass cutting season?

has anyone done this before?

I dont think you'd have enough power to run the mower unless it was at very low ground sped.

I don't think it would be worth the trouble of adapting it to fit if it's not permanent. You should just buy another tractor :D  What happened to the Kohler?

The piston went bad, and it ejected the spark plug. i am going to rebuild it over the winter.
