I thought I knew pretty much all about the Red Cub Cadet 82 Series tractors. However, I just played the Cub Cadet timeline video where they included a 882 tractor. I never heard of a 882 82 Series tractor. Can somebody comment on this or enlighten me please?

:welcometogttalk:

I dug up Oscar Will III's article (Farm Collector, April 2004) "Titans of the Turf"

Of the 82 series he makes no mention of an 882. He does hit on models 182, 282, 382, 482, 582, 682, 782, and 982.
<Edit>This was based on IH built machines only.
Maybe someone else will have something for you. :anyone:

The 882 Cub Cadet was built in 1984,after CCC took over from I.H. ,they were hydrostatic, and had a Kubota Diesel engine.

That thing looks like a real beast! For those of us who aren't familiar with Cub's lineage, What does CCC stand for?

MTD purchased the Cub Cadet line as the Cub Cadet Corp. from International.

Thanks Maynard for the info. Did CCC essentially re-badge a 782D or were there differences between them?

OK, I understand now................the 882 was not part of the 82 Series line of red CC's, and was not built by IH. Thanks to all for your comments on this.

I am wondering the same thing regarding the rebadged Cub Cadet 782D. I would love to have one by the way just in case Santa is listening :D

I can't answer that one for sure, but I think it's the very same tractor. I do know that there was a 782 available at the same time as the 882.But I believe that one was gas powered, unlike the earlier I.H. built 782D that was diesel.
