Well, I have been meaning to do this for about a year and I finally got it finished the other day.

I was going to mount the backhoe on the 3pt but then I got to thinking that it would be nicer if it was mounted solid to the tractor and then it also wouldn't stick out so far. So I removed the 3pt arms, then made arms that I welded to the backhoe that slip onto the back of the tractor. I then used a top link to hook to the top of it so I can adjust just right.

I still need to put a seat on it, I am hoping to do that today.

The backhoe is really easy to put on and off.

I was playing around with it the other day and it worked great and I forgot on how much fun it is to run one!!!!!

That looks like it will be very useful. I always thought a FEL was the "ultimate attachment" until I got one. Now the BH gets that title.

I  really like it mounted solid to the tractor other then on the 3pt. It makes it a lot more compact and it just looks nicer  :smilewink:

I never realized on how much I needed a backhoe until I got this one :dancingbanana:

It was originally mounted on a Ford LGT165 garden tractor, then the garden tractor went to pieces (actually fell to pieces :(  ).

I then found the Kubota tractor cheap so I didn't bother fixing the Ford.

I also have a John Deere 140 with Kwik Way loader but I need to put a engine in it, once I get time to put in the engine I am hoping to put the backhoe on it instead :worshippy1:

Looks great, and definitely better mounted more solid than with 3 point.  If you put it on the 140, I'd recommend building a sub-frame to go the length of the 140 underneath.

yeah, I was thinking the same thing, a sub frame would be the best.

That's what the ford 165 had, the loader and backhoe where both mounted to a sub frame.

Thanks

Backhoe looks great and I agree the frame mount is much better than being mounted with the three point. So when ya coming over to dig out our retaining wall?

That really pulls the hoe up close to the back of the tractor. Looks good.

I'm looking forward to photos of the seat so we can see how you located that.

I'm going to have the seat on the tractor lean against the steering wheel and then have the backhoe seat fold down in it's place (I hope)

I just replaced the seat on the tractor yesterday, I didn't have time to do any work on it today, but I'm hoping to have everything done tomorrow

Got the seat finished up yesterday, the only place I could find to mount it was on the 3pt lift.

The seat is easy to take on or off, I can also raise or lower the seat with the 3pt lever, I didn't really plan it that way but it works :D.
