Hi everyone, I have been looking for a rear pto setup for the lgt165 (closed side) for a long time and I found one but it's off a open side tractor. Was wondering if anyone has modified one of these for the closed side or if it's even possible.  I know there is a problem with the pulley tensioner / muffler clearance, but other than that are the shaft mounts the same?

Everything else should work for you , you just may need to do a bit of shimming down the side frame to get the bearing supports just so.

The belt tensioner at the front is going to be the most challenge ,but it can be done with a little thinking . Snap a few pics of what you have so we can compair the differences. Al lot of guys have them on thier rigs here so I'm sure there is a solution .

Keith, I thought we had a thread somewhere on these PTO's?

The first pic is the closed side PTO (or at least the one I have on mine)

This is probably the one you are getting:

Check the bearings. If they need replaced, now's the time.

I have an open side rear PTO assembly on my closed side, it's not pretty but it works. the main bracket, I had to modify to fit the exhaust enclosure on the closed sides. I will have to see if I can find a picture of it.
