I got this little fella off of farmerall the other day.

She's in need of a little lovin but has a strong heart.Hard to tell how long she sat.The (high test) in the tank got drained and a quick clean of the carb and some fresh gas and she came back to life.Runs strong but he's missing a couple parts.

Wiring is a mess and there is a spring in place of the throttle linkage and the bottom spring (which was replaced at some point) is WAY to stiff and short.

The ID tag is missing the bottom 1/2 so I have no numbers for the tractor.

Any who here's a few pics.Oh I've never seen this option before.Dual spring assist. It looks factory but I'll let you guys decide.

Awe the little Sears has a Buddy.

Could use a hood. This one has a couple 4" long cracks where the grill connects to the hood and the 1 hood stop is broken off on the inside.

If anyone happens to have any of these throttle linkage parts laying around or any of the deck linkage parts and possibly a hood let me know how much your looking for them.

It's raining cats and dogs outside.I can't go out and work on her yet :boo_hoo:

I need to move my shed and widen the door on it so I can pull it in and work on it.My shed is 10x10 on 4x6 pressure treated skids. It's pretty heavy.

If I can figure out how to move it 30 feet I can add to it.Would like to add another 10-12' then I would have room for 2 GTs and a tiny bit of wiggle room.

Lay out a bunch of 2" diameter pipes like those used for chain link fence, and roll it to it's new location.

Hey great idea.Once I get the Bolens moving I'll have to give that a shot. She'll pull it if I can keep the skids out of the dirt.Shed is made of 2x4s with a heavy built skid and 3/4" par deck on the outside walls and roof.

I moved it once but it was in 6 pieces then. It's pretty heavy.

With something to roll on it should move fairly easy.

Looks rough but has potential.

The spring assist kit that is on it was optional equipment.

The other picture you took of the spring attached to the lift lever is for the mower deck. It is designed to give the deck flotation over uneven terrain and is not part of the spring assist kit.

As for parts,

Sometimes you find some NOS Wisconsin stuff on ebay

There's a S8D on there I'm watching but I don't need the whole engine. Can't find any Bolens deck parts yet.

Maybe Bob has some of the parts.I have Joe looking for deck parts but he doesn't have any S8D parts.

The engine was supposedly rebuilt before farmerall got it.It does seem to run good other than the linkage problems. No smoke or knocks.Oil was clean and the carb cleaned up good with little effort.

I have the S8D clip (#200, PK178)  and the linkage (#127 VE783 as long as you have a Walbro carburetor).  No luck on the spring, so farmerall is the man for that.

Carb has a Flat bottom on it.I'm not sure if it's a Zenith or not. It's not like the carb on my old 1050.

Oh Farmerall thanks for the giant mouse hotel and the free baby mice in the blower housing. :bigrofl: :bigrofl: :bigrofl:

I had furr and hair flying everywhere about an hour ago.

The carb is a Zenith, it's just different from the one on a 1050 because the engine makes less hp than the engine on the 1050 does. The carb from a 1050 will bolt right on though. I checked and found the spring you need today too. I will send it out to you in the next day or two.

Carb has a Flat bottom on it.

In that case I do have the linkage (for a Zenith, not Walbro like my first post stupidly suggested) and clip for you.  Let me know if you need it.
