If it's complete and running with a mower deck, it's worth that if nothing is broken.

With the blade and the hydro lift, it's worth that if it has a chipped hood and runs like crap.

I think I'd try and make an offer of $650.00 and see how the seller reacts. Be sure to check the hydraulic lift to make sure nothing is stuck, and works like it should.

After seeing the picture of the tractor, and it's condition, I'd still offer $650.00, and stand firm on that. Yes it has a mower deck and blade, but what good are they if the hydraulic pump doesn't work? I see it has the headlights and half of the rear lift set up. Does he have the integral lift yoke and mounting bracket? That set up alone is worth $200.00 by itself. Here is how I'd break it down to the seller:

Headlights = $100.00 (not complete since the tail light is not shown)

Front Blade = $150.00 (condition unknown since not shown)

Tractor and Mower Deck = $300.00 (If the hydro pump was working, add another $150.00)

Rear Lift Set Up = $100.00 (not knowing if complete. If all there, add another $100.00)

Just my two cents worth, but this is how I would explain the offer of $650.00. If he doesn't like it, then let it go and don't make another offer. If he is at all a smart seller, he'll think about the break down pricing, and realize that you are in the ballpark with pricing, and will take your offer. If he insists on getting the $800.00 for the package, then let him sit on it for a while. He'll eventually see that he isn't going to sell it at that price, and hopefully will put his tail between his legs, and come back to you and give you another shot. Either way, I think you are in a non-lose situation. And if he sells it to someone else, you are still in a non-lose situation, as you weren't the one who paid the high price. Good Luck!

Original owner, too bad his family doesn't want to keep it.  I understand his not wanting to let it go for to little money, but the elfman is right...it is your good common sense about the value, not your sentiment, wanting to buying it. another thing too, I don't think that an original '66 hydro pump is going to be an easy or cheap find either, and neither is a tail light.

Hydraulic pump set up, if found, will more than likely run you around $150-$200.00. The tail light can easily cost you between $50-$100.00. Not my prices, just what the demand is up to right now.
