I have been driving past this tractor sitting in a backyard for a few years.I finally stopped and asked the older gentleman about it and got a surprise. Not only did he tell me that if i could get it loaded and out of there that i could have it but it turned out to be a rare machine. He said he had had this tractor for twenty years and had,had chances to sell it but never wanted to get rid of it and now that he had got to where he doesn't get around well enough to play with it he wanted someone to have it that appreatted it not a junk or scrap guy. This is an interesting tractor, the 1014 is the rebadged MF but this one is a model all to tself as best that i can tell. It has a different frame, front axle, dash, fender pan, transaxle and more.I found a post from member AMF1414 about his 1414 and mine even differs from his in that mine has a battery coil and points and mine also has a drum outboard brake not a disc.Does anyone have an idea of what years this model was produced and what brand of transaxle it uses?I haven't had time to look it over well yet, when he told me i could have it,i went back the next evening (yesterday) after work and loaded it. Then early this morning i unloaded it out of the weather and hope to get to it soon.Info seems to be almost nonexistant for these. This tractor is powered by a 14hp Kohler, shaft driven to a single speed hydro with foot motion control and a hand lever too.It has hydro lift and uses lug studs and lug nuts to hold the rear wheels on.Anyway here is a few as found pictures.

Here a few more pictures showing a little more detail.Another interesting thing is the steering. It looks just like wheel horse steering from the steering wheel to the spindles.

More detail pictures for now.Notice how the right axle housing seems to be part of the frame.

I haven't seen one like that before, but I like the price.  You can't go wrong with a Kohler!

You're right, shares very little with Snapper/Massey 1450 or 1650.  You've got a long road ahead of you but I will love seeing it back in action.  Hope things go well.

Nice looking tractor! Sometimes, just asking can be a blessing! That's how I got the Toro so cheap!

I Have two 1414 AMFs, If you dig deep on site,I have asked the same ?'s I have 1010,1014,MF-14 ,1450 massey, some allis, some of this, some of that. Point is It is a odd bird, deck pan is of the same casting as the old jacobsen,MM,ford GT's without the mule drive.

The was one for sale locally a few years ago. I never went to look at it but I did some digging for info and basically just found Tractorgarden's posts. There wasn't much info out there.

Tractorgarden here is a pic of my model tag.Can you tell me what the other numbers on the tag mean (besides 1414). The lettering is very faded so i don't know but if that last number happens to be the serial number, that would be very cool.
