I have a Super 575 with speed changer. I'm having difficulty with the changer maintaining its position. When the changer is in the higher setting it will slow down when placed under a load. I've adjusted the belts and control lever as the manual says to no avail. It has new belts. I used the cheaper polyester belts instead of the better quality equipment belts though. Could the cheaper belts be stretching? Also, it is difficult to get the lever adjusted to make the changer go through its full range.

I think my problem was too much belt tension. It didn't seem that tight but, running the belts a little slacker seem to fix the problem. It does fine now with the cultivator behind it. The real test will pulling the disc harrow.
