Yep, it was coming out like a garden hose! Dont have to worry about rust underneath now. Everything got a few real good coats. On the sunny side, if it was not the winter, I would have not known soon enough and would probably have burned out the pump. Was surprised how far the single stage throws IF there is a good amount of snow. No worries with that up here!

Stay warm!

Hi Larry,

My one run was successful. All good so far. Is 50 psi common on the low pressure side? Nice rig you have there!

Glad that it'still working for you, looks like we'll get to blow more tonight and tommoro.Roads were pretty terrible comming home from Wpg.this afternoon.Sure it's going to be way worse tonight. As for the psi not familiar with Bolens would have to check there manuals.BTW when you blow snow again with it let us know if everything goes smoothly with thw Hydro filter.Larry

Hello Everyone!

It has been a few months and not much has changed....except for the size of my hydro filter! I obviously have not repaired my filter issue as I found the other day when the cup wrench would not fit as the bottom is round. Yep, the pressure is so high it has deformed the filter. Unit works great but I have something bad going on. YIKES! On the other hand I have purchased another QT17. This one will be Fido 3.

Cheers

Sorry to hear the problem is still there , I couldn't find a service manual for your Eaton hydo unit , maybe if we had one that showing a fluid flow chart someone might be able to help you. ( found just the tractor manual )

Yep a flow diagram would be great. I have an Eaton manual but it is less than helpful. Maybe I will see something in the spring.

Thanks!

You need Adobe Reader to open the manuals.
http://get.adobe.com/reader/

You might want to check the return line on the filter.
It could of got crushed or kinked part way shut.

If the Filters return line is crushed shut it will blow filters before the line blows.

I would check all of your lines (hard and soft lines). The pump sounds like it's working correctly but you have a blockage somewhere in the return from the filter.

Or the fram filter may have blew chunks into the return line.
I've had a couple Fram filters on cars that were defective. They acted like they were clogged up.WIX is my brand of choice for filters ever sense.
