They were great pullers in the geared version, they used the long stroking B&S 16hp cast iron synchro balanced engine

Here is the one I pull with:

IMG_0009.JPG

I had to install a different engine because when I got mine the engine was removed except for the oil pan because it was the pivot for the front axle. I have a 16hp 2cyl Briggs and Stratton engine in it.

What I changed for pulling it:

I added a pilot bearing half way down the length of the drive shaft. The length of the drive shaft is too long that the torque of pulling will make it warp and go out of balance.

I added a second spring to the clutch belt pulley tightener, and make sure that belt is a black color belt. They have the most grip.

Other wise it is all original.

That should be a good tractor for the stock class.

Not sure about those tires though, especially if the club you're puling with allows Ag tires.

If they require turf tires, you'll have a better chance, but usually the Carlisle Turf Masters are the ones to have...

My son has the Montgomery Ward version of that tractor, but it has been pretty heavily modified. It now has a Kohler Command V-twin and a Cub Cadet Transaxle. I am a new member and I am not sure how to put up a picture. If I can figure it out I will get you one.

There we go.

Thanks for the help.

Anyways, here is my sons tractor, as I said it is a Cub Cadet rear-end and a Kohler Command now. We also added the side panels, they are custom, not any originals available that I know of.

Bearpath, we couldn't make it to Sunnycrest, but we will be at Washington County for sure.IMG_0945.JPG
