Found a deal that I figure was pretty decent and wanted teh 3pt lift arms to go on the back of my JD400. It's a MF 1650 with some engine issues, it's too long of a story and I want to tear it down to confirm before saying what kind of condition it is in. It came with a another Snapper 1650 part tractor that was actually a running tractor but smoked. Two decks were include but neither is in very good condition. One has all new bearings in the spindles, and two good sets of timing belts. The MF has a 3pt and rear PTO. Both have solid and straight tins (minus the grilles). They both are supposed to have working electric PTO clutches. Also came with a usable set of loaded goodyear lug tires on Cub rims... most of the other tires are junk.

I hope to make one usable GT out of these two and to sell off all of the other parts. First order of business is to get one of the K341's running and test out all of the hydraulics. I don't plan to mess with the mower/mower parts so they will be for sale as soon as I get a list of what all is there.

Looks like you could have a very nice 1650 after parting out 1 of them. If those 3pt. arms would fit a 400 then maybe you could share them between the tractors. It would be a shame to remove the hitch entirely from the 1650 given that it has the rear PTO as well.

Should be more than enough there to make one very nice tractor.

Nice haul.

I agree that it would be a shame to remove the lift and render the PTO useless. But also, I don't forsee having a use for the 2000rpm PTO. Anyone out there in need of if?

The only reason I would like the lift on the 400 is for ballast and a box blade... I've got much hotter irons in the fire right now though so these will be parked for a bit.

Bobby, keep me in mind when ya start parting, maybe interested in a PTO and possibly the decks as back up parts for my 1855 if they are the 54"ers.

Maybe interested in leftover steering shaft if still tight, but I think the 1650 was different than my 1855.

I just bought a rear PTO too from another parts tractor.

You should be able to get some decent money from the rearend/pump if good. Also keep the hydro valves/levers for future projects :smilewink:

Were those on CL? I seem to recall an add for two for sale.

Will do. When you say "54ers" you talking about the deck size?

Yes, they were but on Louisville CL. But he didn't list the decks, ag's the snapper tractor... one of those times when it paid to make a phone call and ask details.

According to the manual the 54" deck is only shaft drive and these are all belt drive. I believe they are both 48". It looks like a lot of the parts are common though... bearings, Spindle shafts, belt pullies. Will you be going to Daniel's plow day?

I completely missed that thread, may have to try to plan it.....as long as I can sleep in the Tahoe and pee behind the barn! might have to drive down on Friday evening if I come, it's 2 1/2 hrs to my company's sister plan tin Etown.
