I gotta look back through some old threads to remember which member told me about some days ya get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you.  Tom LGT, be advised there's one less round hood in your neck of the woods! And Taylor, I feel like spreading a cott in the shed tonight cause I'm still giddy after this haul. While the pot still simmers, Some may know that I've been in search of...for quite a while...everyday...several times a day for an elusive roundhood, The guesses that just came in, I guess would've suited me fine. Either they've appeared overpriced, out of my range of 'normal' travel, snatched up within hours of ad posting or so badly treated that it'd be like wakin the dead. But This time, This weekend, was all MINE !

Ladies and gentlemen of all ages, monkeys elephants and reptiles, with no further delay., The cookie goes to our own TD&H as I introduce to youz, my newest paws and star of my Bolens Trifecta...:

If you feel that bad about it and want your $150 back, I'm sure you could find one or 15 people on here that would be happy to refund your money...

What is properly? It doesn't have to look brand new. Sometimes I like the looks of an old faded, worn, well cared for tractor, that still keeps purring away. Something that shows it's battle scars and makes you think about how they used to build 'em. You don't have to do the work all at once. Do the important stuff first, then the other things as time permits.

I have a 1970 Wheel Horse Electro12 that has the original engine, runs like a top, and shows every bit of it's 43 years.

Properly for me means doing what I can with the time and money available to make it as good as I can get it, including appearance. I am looking to have a working tractor at the end. It's a personal preference. I prefer to not see rust on my equipment or vehicles.

Seems like I'll be looking for a 'draglink' ( if I've got that right.. ) as there's been some kinda surgery on this one. looks different from the piece on others I have...Wanna make sure I have the  right part # before shopping.

Other than that, engine runs good and strong to me. I figure it might've done the same for the PO who said he got it from a friend and didn't really put any time or effort into it. Getting this to run for me, required a fresh battery and opening the fuel shutoff valve... :smilewink:

I started a bit o' rehab with some of the time I've had this week and as I don't forsee a restoration in sight this year, I opted to work on minor stuff that wouldn't lead to parts laying around while I've got other things going on.

At this point., the only decal I'd likely remove now would be the Husky triangle on front as it's way beyond salvage or nostalgia, the others are holding up fairly well for time served, IMO. Where can I order just that one? Gotta admit I kinda like the raw iron look..
