My neighbor asked me to fix his MTD blower. The multi position bearing (741-0185) on the auger head is bad. When I looked on the Internet for a price, the big name places like JacksOutdoorPower want $30+ for it. Other places price it at $8 - $10. What am I missing here? Is cheaper just as good?

I order a lot of parts online and see this a bunch, most likely it's the exact same part, what gets me is if you're looking up multiple parts the guy who is the most expensive for one part will be the low price guy for the next one! I usually look for who has the best price on the total order before buying.

Chances are that it is a standard part. I needed 6 new hydraulic hoses for my backhoe. They were $100 each locally. Surplus Center was $32 each. They have bearings and all kinds of standard parts. Give them a try. Good Luck, Rick

I was checking Amazon last night for this part and they had two different ones. The MTD one was expensive and the cheap one was Roundy brand.
