I picked up a Custom 6 & a Custom 7 at a yard sale today. The serial numbers are visible, but I can't find a list of year by serial online. The 7 I can guess at, but the 6 has square fenders. Something I've never seen before. I'll get better pictures tomorrow, but here's a link to the ones I have.

It looks of the grill it would be a 1966 with the recoil it should be a model 917.99800.The model number may be a little different as with each option they change it a little.

Dad has 2 '66 units with round fenders... that's what confuses me.

AH, I've got Dad's wrong then. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll correct those registry entries tonight. - Alan

Is there a way to track year by serial # with these tractors?
I've been looking around the WWW, but no luck yet.

I don't know about tracking the serial numbers but post the 917.xxxxxx number of what you have and that may be enough to narrow down the year. Lots of times the sears model number is year specific.

Unfortunately, that's about what I can read. I can only make out the 917, cause I know it's there. Will see if I can make more of it out later today (with any luck)
