Yeah it gave a better starting point for the paint than that blasted yellow hood, had to sand down the fender pan and that s***ked

Your doing the hard way, dont sand it, "Easy Off" it, or strip it. Repeated coatings of Easy Off turn the paint to chalky flakes, after a couple hours power wash it, and repeat, you should be able to get off about 90 percent of the paint in two coatings and washings with Easy Off

I'd like to nominate my S17 Speedex tractor, I had a lot of fun tearing it down and repainting it. I Bought it at a auction for $45 so i figured i couldn't lose anything repainting it.

You are more than welcome to nominate your tractor but we must ask that you follow the rules in the first post and please have at least two paragraphs for the description / story.

I'd like to nominate my Speedex s17. That I bought at an aucion for $45. It has fluid filled back tires. I put a kawasaki engine in it. It also came with a dirt plow. Not picured. I had it sandblasted then i tore it down and repainted sail blue. It can pull almost anything i hook it to. I've had 3 speedexes and i'd have too say this one's gotta be my favorite. I had a S14 that i took apart and repainted it, It was fun but took me alot longer to do and was a lot more confusing.

Tell us about the S17, what's unique about the model, when it was built, and go into a little more detail on the restoration. There are very few Speedex tractors or collectors, and we have two on TOTM nominations, Thanks

Hi, I'd like to nominate my 1971 Power King Tractor - Humpty Dumpty

Nice looking machine.  I bought a non-working model similar to that, but with 24" rear wheels.... eventually sold it after I drained the oil from the engine, then called it a night... came back the next day and fired it up without adding new oil.... oooops!!
