Can someone tell me where I can get a filter for my transmission and what type of oil I need to use?

Thanks.

Try the Manuals tab above and look under Massey/Snapper for the operators manual. You can download three for free per day. Good Luck, Rick

I served with a LTC Mark Juneau in the Army in 1991. He was in the LA National Guard. Cool guy, a snake eater.

boyscout862, thanks for the reply.  I have the manual but it does not give a part # for the filter nor the weight of the oil needed.

As far at the LTC......I am not sure...I served in the Guard until 1998 but never met him....Do you remember where he was from?

You can find the oil filter info HERE  which is pinned to the top of the Massey forum.  As to oil, you can simply use Dexron III.

One more question.....I have not been able to get to the tractor yet....am I looking for a screw on filter or an inline filter?

STD looking spin-on.  Look under left fender.

olcowhand.....can you tell me where the drain plug is for the transmission?  The manual does not mention one.  I am pretty sure I can find it but I want to be sure before I start twisting a wrench.

What kind of motor oil do you use?  I am really needing to have my engine rebuilt but I am going to have to wait a bit for that.  It is currently burning about 12 oz of oil every 1 1/2 - 2 hrs of run time.  I have been using Rotella 30 weight.
