I was rummaging through some old pictures and ran across a few you might like to see.

The first is from 1973. It's a friend of ours, Gerhard Grett, on his Jim Dandy. Mr. Grett owned a place called Lazy Meadows in Mount Tremper, NY,  just outside of Kingston. We spent several summers there while my dad was training at the IBM plant site in Kingston. Mr. Grett was a really neat guy, and was an infantry soldier in the German army during WWII. Lazy Meadows had a motel, apartments, cabins, travel trailers, and mobile homes to rent, right on the Esopus creek. What a beautiful place that was, in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. A brother and I went on a motorcycle trip through that area back in 1995. Lazy Meadows sure was smaller than I remembered it! Our family made a lot of good memories there. Last I knew it was owned by one of the members of the band called The B52's! I went to a few months of my 5th grade year in nearby Phoenicia.

The second is a picture  from 1974 of yours truely on a Craftsman riding mower. The third picture is one of my older brothers on the same tractor.

The fourth is me again in 1978 on Dad's Sears SS16. That tractor is probably my favorite of my childhood (although I would LOVED to have used Mr. Grett's Jim Dandy and would really like to have it today!)

Ahhh..... memory lane!!!

Your dad should have put a gas tank on the mower, then you wouldn't have to hold the gas can! :bigrofl:

But seriously, those are some neat photos and story to go with them.

Very nice photos. We all seem to remember the tractors from our youth. That's a nice looking SS16!
