Well this is turning into another massive project just like the metallic green last year! :wallbanging:

You don't want to know how many test samples I tried already so I'll just say it was probably more than a sane person would do :D

I found something very close to the original. I'm guessing the original paint was a bit brighter than the samples we are working with after all its over 60 years old.

After studying numerous samples from the stockpile of parts and tractors I have here I would say that the original Bolens green looked very close to what was found on both Wilberj's and my serial tag.

Pictures below are taken in different lighting scenarios , (No flash)

Of course every ones computer screen will display the color differently, so the only way to see for yourself is to get a 4oz test sample at NAPA.

Let me hear your opinions!

Maybe it is just the way the photo color shows up on my computer, but the sample sure looks like John Deere green.

It doesn't seem like a good match to the paint on this Ridemaster sickle mower.

Of course, that's assuming that the paint on the mower is original.

Have any better pictures of the sickle?

The paint on the outside is not good for a match as it faded.

This could be from a different year as well, remember there were 3 variations of green during the Ridemasters production.

That sickle almost looks like it has the later metallic paint on it.

It does look like JD Green, But thats what the original color sort of looked like.....

From what I can tell those both look to be the Metallic

That would put them at 1956 and newer.

The one I got with my Ridemaster is the bright green used around 1954-1955 and is different from my tractor.

I think your sample is a tad bit off.

Switched brands today:

I have one choice in mind and have asked 3 other people and they both chose the same color without me telling them.

Let me know what you think and which one you would pick.

Just give them the PPG number 920570 and they should be able to cross it over to something you can get. If not get it in a ppg line of paint.

If I had to choose from those the Greenbelt is the closest out of them.

Went to 3 different paint places and none of them could do anything with that number.......

Really! That seems kinda surprising. Did you try a place that can mix PPG products? If you want I could mail you a spray out then you could get it color matched where you get your paint.
