I haven't ever fished the pond I tried yesterday.  I had some decent luck.  I rowed the Radisson as it is a non motorized pond.  It was a beautiful day.  I left the cell phone home, the fiance was off climbing a mountain and I was left alone.

I did not bring a camera, but there were some memorable sights I don't normally see when fishing.  Besides the fish, a group of college girls came through on a trek.  They were easy on the eyes.  Then later, a couple soaked up some rays on their canoe.  The woman was also easy on the eyes, but very far away (too far) when the top came down.

But enough of that.  I caught a large perch, some nicely sized small mouths and I hooked into a pike, but when he shook his head, his teeth severed that mono filament like it wasn't there.  I had forgotten my Adirondack rule to put a steel leader on when unsure of what could be in the pond or lake.

I got some decent eating fish that will be good at a later date.  I cleaned them at the site and brought the bodies home for cleaning and freezing.  Here is the trio in the sink.

By the way, I didn't disclose the location on purpose.  I plan to go back with a steel leader and a pair of binoculars!

Hard to beat a good day fishing. You missed because you were not prepared. I like the little binocs that fit in my old army shirt pocket. Good Luck, Rick

Nice fish, and it sounds like a great day.

About the "easy on the eyes".

You know the rules.

Pics, or they're not real.

Well, I guess they could be fakes, but we still need pics, otherwise

it sounds like a fishing tale. You know, "They where this big"!

Sounds like a great day. Good for you! I think I would go mountain climbing, though. Which mountain?

You missed because you were not prepared. Rick

I know, some Eaglescout.  BePrepared is the motto.  lol

and I'll have four fishing days.

Enjoy each one of them.

:bigrofl:  Very funny indeed Will.  Honest guys, they were really far away.  Besides, she wasn't Dolly Parton!

I think I would go mountain climbing, though. Which mountain?

It was three of the High Peaks.  She had to climb five mountains total yesterday to get three more High Peaks.  She's half way now to being a 46er.  I honestly don't know which ones they were though.  I'm just proud of her for doing it.  I don't climb mountains anymore.

Good thing you didn't disclose the site. Ryan would be there tomorrow! :rolling:

Oh yeah.  I thought I heard his motor revving all the way up here! lol

Dave, Be Prepared is a mantra. BTW have you showed the fiance that you really are concerned about the mountain climbing by giving her,a personally made up survival kit? For rough country and on water I like a water proof container around the neck. I can take some pics of mine if you are interested. Good Luck, Rick

She consulted me about what to carry.  Her cousin is a guide also and she has helped too.  I'd love to see photos of what you carry too.  Thanks for the help.
