Has anyone ever adapted a mower deck from a non-Sears Suburban and made it work on a SS/16?  I need a mower deck but can't find one to fit.

I would think that adaptation would be doable with a mule drive. As a matter of fact, with a three blade deck or center drive at least, it would probably be pretty easy until you get to designing the lift assembly. That might be interesting as the lift is part of the deck on those.

I have the scissor lift off one of the decks that worn out it might bolt on if the belts were not in the way.

If you still had the mandrels, I would suggest thinking about making one, but the sheet steel and welding might get a little $,

How are you making out?

Haven't had time to work on it yet I was negotiating

with Arti for his used deck. I'm still weighing my options.

I've been focusing on get the 87' Craftsman II running that a friend gave me. The 18hp B&S is now running but I need to adjust the carb. I have to keep the choke 3/4 of the way out for it to run.

Man, hard to believe you can't find a deck, I know a couple guys in my area getting ready to start scrapping some cause they got so many they don't use.

Shipping would be a killer from WI to SC.

Sense I posted this message I have found three that I was able to purchase for $75 each.  I had to drive a ways to get them but now I have one for every tractor I own.
