You can see the angle is wrong but the front bracket only seemed to want to go on one way. Im a little lost looking at the 'wishbone' that pivots from the back

I believe you've got some parts missing. Look at page 7 of this manual. You should have four spacers (part #8 in the drawing) where the rocker arm assembly (part #7) attaches to the bail assembly (part #16) and the front brackets (parts 1 & 2). All attached with blots, washers and lock washers. Without the spacers, the mowing deck hangs lower than normal because of the slop in the holes. Also, the front of the deck can be raised by turning the eybolts (part #18) in at the rear of the bail assembly.

I just went to my garage and got a couple of pics of mine.  Unfortunately I would have to rearrange my whole garage to get really good angles so you get these. :smilewink:

As you can see, my lower bolt on the pivot rocker is back right against the deck bracket and yours is much further forward.  As Greg mentioned, the pivot points are supposed to have normal bolts with bushings that take up the slop.  I can also see that the whole adjusting loop/frame is way too far forward but it looks like the links at the back are already all the way in??  There may be something wrong with how the rear wheels are set up that is causing everything to move too far front??  Maybe a picture of the back would be helpful.

I just uploaded a Broadmoor and deck parts manual to our manuals library that covers all Broadmoor models from '64-'76.  It can be found at:  http://gardentractor...s-manual-64-76/

Also what drive and pto belts do I need to buy? these are shot.

Drive belt is Simplicity part #2165048SM or 1/2" X 85" belt.

PTO belt is Simplicity part #1713515SM or 1/2" X 78" belt.

Wow thanks fellas!!

I could not have asked for more helpful or specific responses. Thank you both for your time!

I'm going to simplicity dealer 'Lawn Barn' in 19047 to grab belts today and maybe they will have spacers too. That deck manual is awesome! I printed out a copy and last nite I ordered a 728 owners manual off amazon.

Here's a pic of the rear. Sorry I don't have one with the adjuster shown or the roller mount

I hope all that slop will be taken out when I fit the correct spacers in the front mount- hopefully the wishbone will do it's job then and lift the nose along with the rear when adjusted. The roller bar mount on mine has a dowel and a double nutted bolt (an obvious later addition by PO). I'll hafta post a pic of it later.

This thing is slow but in 3rd it sure pops a nice little wheelie! I'm having fun with it and I'm psyched there's so much love for the old girls!

Kevin
