Earlier this year IE: during the spring, Grandpa plowed, tilled and cultipacked the field in order to put some seed it back into pasture. However he didn't get to it in time... So a TON of ragweed and nutsedge just sprouted and overcame the soil... :wtf: And yes, I do know that nutsedge is a type of grass! :rolling: So, Dad and I had the idea of Using the 725's sickle mower to take'm out! :D in the process Dad got his skinny white "Chicken" legs all bit up! I was smart and wore Jeans and long socks! :rolling: Anyways, we tore about half of the weeds down until it was dark enough that we could't see... Then today we finished off what we could,Until the sickle drive belt exploded. So then we got the 165 out and threw on the weeder, and used it to make windrows because, the neighbor borrowed Grandpa's rake.. then it took about 3 large loads on the 35 to take all the weeds down to the swamp in the woods where grandpa dumps all of his bush hog clippings. so it's been a hard day's night, and well... I actually had a lot of fun getting some seat time, as well as spending some quality time with my old man! :dancingbanana:

Here is a link to the video and pics from last night.

The pics of the trailer are of the last load of the evening. The other two were 90% as big.
We only had two swaths left when the belt gave up. Dad said how mad he was the belt only lasted 50 years... We will get a new belt as soon as we can.

You guys did great Ryan! It looks like you and your dad had fun also.

Looking at the pictures really brought a smile to my face! As it reminded me of all the things I used to do with my dad when I was your age.

Thanks for sharing this with all of us.

That looks like fun Ryan! You and your dad put in a long day but got those weeds out of the way. So I guess you guys will need to till, cultivate or turn over that field now. More seat time!

Now, if you just wait awhile, it will all grow back up and you can do it over again.

Dads plan is to plant some winter wheat or something that will do well there. Maybe Timothy if we do some lime.
