I am having some problems with my DB. It will start and run, but is down on power and dies if I put much load on it. I have cleaned the carb, and checked the plug, they are both good.

It acts like it is running out of gas, but its going enough gas.

Could it be the points?

On those it could be the points or the condenser, most of the time it is. Bad compression also, but I would check to see if you have a nice blue spark first.

The points are 29667.  I am temporarily out of stock.  However, I would take a points file and clean up your old ones a bit and they should be good to go.  In all my Briggs repair work (and I've done quite a few) I've only put new points on one engine.

The condenser is a 29861.  I have a bunch of those.
