I'm loaded and ready.
I needed to make sure I could get everything on, most of the stuff in the box of the truck is not mine.
I also got Jake the dog on Guard duty.

Been back out to the fields, and man it is tough. Some of the problem for me is mechanical, as I've not had any time to do any more tuning to Hogzilla, as it's still evolving. I will be taking a different tractor out later & trying it with a 10" plow instead of the 12" I've been trying. Main thing is to get the plow set up to not take too much bite. Looking like I may take the hay roller out & remove the trash from the worst spots. Time is my enemy here, and possibly I'm just worrying too much with it all. My last passes were much better.

Well guys, if you don't have a good time at my plow day, it certainly won't be because I didn't try. There was simply too much trash after bush hogging. Combine the trash with the hard ground & it would have been too much. So I just got finished raking 30 acres or close to it. I will roll bale this trash off tomorrow evening or the next. MUCH more work than I had bargained for, and not feeling my best the last few weeks, it has taxed me pretty good. I feel we'll all have a good time regardless of plow conditions, but I want to make it as good as I possibly can. Maybe Mother Nature will bless us with a good rain before plow day. Been 3 weeks or more since a rain that did more than settle the dust.

Daniel, no matter what, we will have a good time! Just meeting all you folks in person will be the hit of the day! Getting to turn dirt will just be a bonus!

Loading the trailer with tables & such now. I'll park the trailer inside till I take the stuff out there closer to plow day. The only things that require much out of my way time wise is rolling the trash, and going after the porta-pot. Thanks heavens Teresa & Denise are handling the food!

I am supposed to bring a tractor????? Heck I thought we were just having a gt talk gathering.
Any of you getting to Elizabethtown early enough to go out to dinner??? Not sure how my day is going to go....but hoping to get there in a reasonable time Friday evening. Which means I probably will end up there about 1 am instead of the planned 6 pm.

Not sure where TD&H & I will be at that time! But we'll be in the area!

Got a random question for anyone attending. My sons chickens have gone into egg-overdrive, and we are overrun with eggs. Anyone want a dozen farm-fresh? I can bring as many as you want!
Posted September 15, 2013 - 08:27 PM
I'd take a dozen or 2!

Sure you don't want 3 or 4? The kid has fourteen dozen in the egg fridge, and he only sells 4-6 dozen a week! His replacement chickens just started laying, and he hasn't gotten rid of last years yet.

I will take a couple -4 dz. if you want to bring them for me. What are you getting for a dozen?

Daniel, Quit worrying, we are going to have a blast even if we don't start the first furrow. Maybe we'll just ride up and down the road and across the hills and hollers!!

Like any dealer, the first one is always free! He gets $2 a dozen when he sells them. He manages to make enough to cover his costs, and it gives him something to be responsible for.

I imagine he will. I'll load up a cooler full!
