I am tentatively planning to hold the plow day event on September 21st with a 9/28 rain date. Things can change though. Due to a wetter than normal summer, our manure pit is filling up, and the only place to spread it will be the fields we chop for silage, also the only areas suitable for plowing. So if we can spread it early enough, then we would be fine. Spreading on plowed ground would only serve to pack it down tight again. Normally we don't have to spread until November. There is a chance we may chop a field out at Dad's, and we don't spread manure there, so we'll have to see how it all works out.
In the meantime, if it works out where we plow at the same area as last year, it will be at 1650 Ball Hollow Road, Hodgenville, Ky. Planning to have a chili lunch, hot dogs, drinks & snacks included. No fee charged, but donations happily accepted to help defray costs.
All GT's and sub-compacts as well as walk behinds welcome. Please, no plows larger than 12" so furrows won't be too deep for the smaller units.
All participants will have to sign waiver of liability. No alcohol please. Look forward to meeting all who can come!
Also, everyone feel free to bring stuff they would like to sell.
