Just last week, my next to oldest sister (66) learned she has rectal cancer.  She's not seen the cancer specialists yet, but will soon, I think first of next week.  No idea what stages or anything at this point.  Then this morning, we got a call that my youngest sister (59) was admitted to the hospital.  Some kind of infection of the stomach that has messed up her intestine next to her stomach.  Surgery in the morning, but they are not sure yet exactly what they will have to do, but looks like removal of some intestine, & maybe part of her stomach.  I have 2 brothers, 5 sisters, around 23 nieces & nephews, & 28 or so great nieces & nephews.  We have never lost anyone or even had tragic accidents, so we have been very fortunate.  Had a couple close calls, but we're all still here.   Hoping I can go visit her tomorrow afternoon, but I have to milk morning & night the next 2 days, so it's gonna be hard to see her tomorrow, as she may still be recovering from surgery by the time I'll have to come home to milk tomorrow afternoon.

 Please keep my sisters in your thoughts & prayers.

Daniel, make sure you let the both know we are thinking of and praying for them.
I have a friend who has to have intestinal surgery every 6-7 years and they remove a couple inches of scar tissue. Seems they have the surgery pretty much down pat.

Colon cancer if caught early, has a pretty high success rate on remission. Praying both are easy corrections.

Continuing prayers for you and your sisters, Daniel. Your family sounds a lot like mine...... no speakable health trauma..... just self-inflicted poor choices whose consequences linger that make life interesting. (Ex-wife comes to mind)

Done.

Reminds me of the old song "Telephone to Glory"  we had it on a Burl Ives LP when I was a kid and my mom still sings it from time to time...

TELEPHONE TO GLORY
Frederick Martin Lehman (early 1900s)??

Central’s never “busy,” always on the line;
You may hear from Heaven almost any time;
’Tis a royal service, free for one and all;
When you get in trouble, give this royal line a call.

Refrain

Telephone to glory, O what joy divine!
I can feel the current moving on the line,
Built by God the Father for His loved and own,
We may talk to Jesus thru this royal telephone.

There will be no charges, telephone is free,
It was built for service, just for you and me;
There will be no waiting on this royal line,
Telephone to glory always answers just in time.

Refrain

Fail to get the answer, Satan’s crossed your wire,
By some strong delusion, or some base desire;
Take away obstructions, God is on the throne,
And you’ll get your answer thru this royal telephone.

Refrain

If your line is “grounded,” and connection true
Has been lost with Jesus, tell you what to do;
Prayer and faith and promise, mend the broken wire,
’Till your soul is burning with the Pentecostal fire.

Refrain

Carnal combinations cannot get control
Of this line to glory, anchored in the soul;
Storm and trial cannot disconnect the line,
Held in constant keeping by the Father’s hand divine.

Smitty
