Today Brian, his Wife Joey, and daughters Briley & Bailey came by for a visit while driving from Brian's Mom's near Indianapolis to Joey's Mom in North Carolina. In tow was a trailer load of John Deere 332's, a pair of brand new Trupower ags on rims, and tons of garden produce. (I'm worried he's low on gas money & he's selling produce as he goes to fill his tank. ) Naw, he bought a ton of corn & tomatoes to take to Joey's Mom's & work up. He left us a nice mess of corn & tomatoes too!
Our corn isn't in yet, & I tried an ear in the microwave like he's posted about before, 4 minutes on high for each ear, cut the base end off just after the first row of kernels, then Joey shook it by the silks & lo & behold, that ear slid out with NO silk on it! And talk about DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!! Thanks guys, tonight is gonna be a 2 course meal....corn & butter!!!!
I made a batch of home made peach ice cream, this morning & had waiting in the freezer for their visit. By hokee, I think they liked my fixins!
They have several more hours driving so had to pull out, but sure wish they could have stayed MUCH longer. Brian & his entire family are GREAT folks! Next time we'll have to have more time to really sit down & kick back. Thank you all for taking the time out of your busy trip to come see us Brian!
PS: I know Joey loves tractors, but just won't admit it. So tell her I've set aside a plot this year for her with restrictions & covenants so as only she can plow that ground!
