Just thought I would say hi and look forward to geting some good advice from people who know what there talking about. I have a Bolens G-14 1453 I picked up last month for $350 cad with blower,deck,blade. So i might need some advice when i get stumped on somthing.

I thank everyone for their kind words. I do have a question about the rear end of the tractor.there seems to be some play in the axel front to back about a 1/4 inch.

I think they all have slop there. I know all three of the Bolens that dad has have slop back there. I could very well be wrong and will let the Bolens nuts have at it :D

Thanks NUTNDUN I just dom't want to open a can worms and be stuck this winter and shovel my drive way(bad back!!!)and i'm sure parts for this would be hard to find.

Parts are actually pretty easy to find for the rear ends. The same rear end was used on many models of the tube frames.

Usually the play can be adjusted by tightening the castle nuts on each end.
There are some directions on how to do this in this manual: http://sonnys_bolens...s/192-02-OM.pdf
starting on page 11 and 12 of the manual.
Its not really too complicated and you cant hurt anything when you attempt to do this as long as you don't use a wrench to re tighten the castle nuts.

Thanks Dr Bolens the play is front to back not left to right. And only on left side looking from the back.
