This is no tractor it has 223 hrs on meter. PO said it quit running pulled in shed and let it sit till he brought to the yard. I managed to get it . With a little iron swapping I'm getting this 4 yr old mower and the 71 JD 214 for little of nothing. To the point  It would run then just shut down . Let it set it run for wile and quit. Hit the tins with air it was like silage blower pipe come loose so I pulled all covers off it was packed full . Cleaned it all up put all tin work back on run it for 1 hr. no problems. I know something is getting weak or going bad that heat affected I'll find out some time in the future when it quits running again if at all. This is the second one I piked because of PO poor maintenance of the engine tins.So at the end the year give them a good cleaning.

Heh, heh, some folks are "buy-use 'n toss" right after stuff gets dirty.  Keeps America's economy going. (Well, stuff like that and... China.):D

You are correct. They use and park until they quit. No maintenance.

It really is sad the way people treat their equipment, but it sure works out great for you! Nice Save!

Good advice. I've bought several tractors with serious engine issues due to over heating. The 314 has a cracked block. It was pretty much stuffed with oil and grass cliippings.  You can really notice the airflow when you clean them out.

it sure is a shame how people don't take care of their equipment. I just worked on guys mower who left it out in the rain, water in gas and oil. Cost him $200 to get it going good again maybe he learned a lesson.
