I'm surprised they are buying new ones at all regardless of type. I guess it must pay for itself in terms of advertising and rental income.

Years ago one of them flew directly over my house. It was flying into a strong head wind, bucking up and down and making little time. I never heard anything in the sky that made as much noise as it did.

Yeah, they must make a ton of money from the T V networks for sporting events and stuff ,,,, and I suppose if you buy a Goodyear u pay for it one way or another....Interesting article, thanks

Thank you for the information.

Hard to believe a darn pro golfer can't hit a ball if there is a blimp shadow moving on the ground.

Guess that is why you can't yell & root for your favorite golfer in person....they will miss the ball!

Back in  '89 I got a picture of my brother flying his plane around one of the Goodyear blimps.  His plane just looks like a spec in the picture because the blimp is so large.

I have C-130's and the new replacement C-17's going over here now and then @ around 2500'.  At night it's like a noisy city flying by.

"Film crews at sporting events can appreciate this to help them set up the perfect aerial shot, but so can a professional golfer, who can't have a blimp flying around and casting distracting shadows during play. Because of this, expect to see the new Goodyear "blimps" in more places than the old ones."

Ya know....  These guys making all that money strolling around in the grass playing at the G-word game (not to be confused with VW cars in freeway traffic) should really...  TOUGHEN UP!  Really?  Disturbed by a shadow?  It's a G-D blimp dang it, NOT THE GRIM REAPER!  I mean really, toughen up!  You never see a tournament bass fisherman cringe when a cloud momentarily passes overhead!  "FORE"!   :dancingbanana:

Yeah, that's right! You tell 'em for us, HH. It's not like the thing snuck up on 'em and said Booh! :smilewink:

Gee. I hope this extra spending doesn't interfere with getting my paycheck while working the races! :(
