Looking for some measurements for both the 42" and 50" decks

Need the diameter of the upper pulley, and also the diameters of all 3 of the lower ones.

I have a mismash of pulleys here since the 50" was prev worked on by the prev owner, and I beleive that 42" stuff was used.

Thanks, Tom

Also if I have 3 of the same diameter for the lower pulleys, will that work fine, just as long as the upper one is proper for the deck size?

What would help us help you better would be to know what model tractor you are talking about and some other specifics..  Is it a Ford or Jacobsen?

Tom, I may be able to get the mower drive pulley measurement for a 42" deck today. But It would take a bit more to get the cutter drive OD's as the deck is still on the tractor & I broke a rod on it. Mine is the 09JC9835 deck on my '77 LGT 165.

Is this a trick question ?

Not really! Looking at the parts list for these, they changed part #'s in '74 and at least 1 in '77, depending which model deck you have. For the 42" decks, there are 4 different model #'s and at least 3 different 50" deck models!

My 50" top drive pulley is 5-3/4" for a 1/2" belt. The 42" deck uses a smaller pulley.

It's kind of hard to see under my tractor. But, it's looks like the drive pulley on my 42" deck is 4-1/2" in diameter.
My 42" deck has aluminum spindle housings.
My 42" deck is model number 09JC-9835 serial number 13647.

The deck spindle pulleys on the 50" deck are 5" diameter.
My 50" deck has rectangular flat steel plates to mount the spindles.
My 50" deck is model number 09JC -983??? ( the tag is torn!).

I am looking for a drive pulley for my 42" deck. And the outer spindle pulleys for my 50" deck.
If you find some, please, let me know. I have seen missick's has the listed. But, at more than $50 a piece!

Thanks!

I have what I believe to be a 42" deck (measured from tip to tip on the blades). It has a 4-3/4" top pulley (actual OD). I can't find any numbers on it.

My impact gun is at work, so I won't be able to pop the pulley and cover off till tomorrow.

Tried a magnet on the spindle housings, definitely steel, has the square plates.

Maybe it is a 50", measures about 50" from deck edge to edge of chute.

That's a 42" deck. all you need to do is remove the 3 bolts, and then remove the bolts holding the cover on.
