The little pickup box on the back is sort of cool....other than that, looks like an MTD or something

Neat little mowers! Probably not worth the price unless you were an Arctic Cat collector.

There was another company that made tractors just like those ones, but I always forget the name of it. Maybe somebody else will know. I am going to guess that the other company made the ones artic-cat has their name on.

Yes, the 70's had so many companies selling a wide variety of products.

MTD, Ariens, Bolens, Massey Ferguson, Wards, Gilson, Homelite and John Deere made snowmobiles too. Yamaha also made Lawn Tractors in the early 90's.

This website  http://www.bosscatle...protonstrac.htm  shows ads from at least '72-'74.  They also conventional body configurations without the pickup bed.

I've seen these with four different brand names so far:  Grass Cat, Chaparral, Lawn Lion, Electra.

This line from the ad "They were made by General products in Omaha NB" is the first time I've read that.  Maybe he's right, I'd just like to know where that info comes from.  The other speculation I've seen is that they were built by Huffy.
