Found this add very entertaining and funny.

For Sale:

World’s most contemptible chain saw.

It’s a Poulan ( which, I think, means “two stroke jack@**” in French). I bought it at an auction for $65 about two years ago, and put on a new chain. I was kinda looking forward to finding things around the property to cut down. I attempted that numerous times, but the Poulan (which may mean “infernal demon beast” in French) hates me for some reason. It would run, shut off, then not start again. The chain kept getting bound or would just come off the bar – there was no happy medium on the tension adjustment. When I would put it back in the garage, it would sit and laugh at me. I decided to punish it for being so impudent and banished it to a corner for quite some time. Now it’s pouting and refuses to start at all.

Spark plug? Maybe. Choke not functioning? Perhaps. Frankly, I don’t care. I want it gone. YOU deal with its mood swings – I’m done.

$40 and I’ll throw in a second brand-new chain. Price is firm as if it doesn’t sell, I’m going to have at least $40 worth of fun shooting it with a Keltec in a YouTube video.

If someone buys it, the seller should throw the ammo in the deal.  After all, he would have shot all the ammo anyway, had he not sold it.   :smilewink:

LOL those little mini Mac saws are temperamental.I have 2 older (aluminum recoil cover) minis and a slightly newer (plastic recoil cover) one and a little Eager Beaver. They sure are handy little fellas when they're running.

That is from my home town and I can only think of a few dozen people who might have wrote that ad.

Don't get a Poulon. Get a Poulon Pro. That's the one the loggers use.

I don't understand this statement. I've been a satisfied Homelite user for over 35 yrs. You should want it to be more like a Homelite!

The first time I think i damaged my rotator cuff was on a Homelite II. It wasnt starting it, it was when I threw that non starting piece of crap as far as I could down thru the woods.

Doug, I am glad you are having better luck with them than I ever have.

I had a POULAN 3400 years ago and cut tons of firewood. It was a very nice (afordable) saw at the time I bought it.

I do have a Stihl 038 now, but the ex got the house with the fireplace!

That ad definitely made the list for best sales pitch of the year.

Doug, I have an old Kawasaki powered Homelite brush cutter/weed eater type that has been through all sorts of jungles lugging down brush.  I love that machine.  It always starts right up no matter how long it sits between when I need the "big guns."

I also had a new Homelite blower that blew up.  The connecting rod threw a bearing then threw itself after destroying nearly every moving part inside of a simple two cycle.

I think there are two sides to the Homelite coin: some stuff I would touch with a thirty-nine- and a half foot pole, and some I would buy instantly.

Ben W.
