What causes engine surging? It seems to do that after I turn off the blades when the engine starts to die on me.

Make sure the governor linkage isn't worn and the carb is adjusted correctly. Good Luck, Rick

This weekend it's a new needle and seat because I thought it might be sticking closed intermittently. Also will be putting in a new float because the existing one has no tab to allow adjustment in the needle-open position (hanging down). I'll also give the governor linkage a close look, and reset the carb adjustments back to initial setup positions.
