There is a tag on the left side of the gear case with a model number. it should read 917.60601 or 602, if its truely a 1959 tractor.

Welcome to GTtalk.
I think your question will get more traffic if its a thread unto itself.

I will move it for you. After its moved, see if you can upload a bigger pic or two. From the avatar pic, it looks neat.

I have a 725 that's a few years after yours. If ican answer a q, please ask.

Welcome!

I also have a 725, well built bare bones tractors.

I remember seeing a list of the DB attachments and model numbers, but don't remember where.

Here is a site with the models and pictures.

Here's some pics of the different attachments, but this covers many years.

I used to take care of yard work and bring fire wood to this old man. Well before he died he gave me this david with bunch of attachments, two plows, sickle mower, a gen unit for the front, dozer blade, disc, and the mower deck that I took off cuz it looks better without it. Ive had it for three just last weekend i got it running so i havent hadthe chance to get it dirty, buti plan on making a food plot with it. The carb is acting funny. And im nkt a carb guy. I have gas overflowing the carb guessing the needle vavle isnt seating good?. I need help tuning the carb and fixing it. Anyone help?.

The good news is the carb is fixable, the bad news is you are about to become a carb guy.

This is a good paper to see what's inside a two piece briggs carb.
http://gardentractor...lo-jet-leakage/

If I were a betting man, I would start with testing the float. Download one of the Briggs Manuals that show carb rebuilding and dive in.

Be sure to take the main jet tube out before taking the carb apart or you can damage the tube.
