In the short time I have been obsessed with Bolens, I have yet to see a cap. When I do, I may embarass myself with the excitement shown.

I have one but it is too fragile to use, have been checking out plastic casting sites here. The plan was to use the old original to make a mould, the trick of course is to make a mould. You probably could just pour marine resin in to make a plain cap ,t he other option is the lathe. Well I will keep looking, a cap from a hub almost fits mine. Cheers Mike

Yes

Now that you mention it.... Didnt someone try and get them reproduced a few years ago on the "Other Forum"

If I remember correctly the repro's were quite different than the originals though.

Yes, I know I read it fairly recent somewhere maybe last fall. How many different caps do you think would be needed to cover most of the Bolens line ?

There were two round caps for the tube frames and large frames from 1966 to 1969.

Bob has some last I knew.

:ditto:

The early one was a clear cap with smooth sides.  They appeared to be used on the 1966 Models and some were used in 67' but I think they were leftovers from 66'
