Ok guys I had a gentleman contact with 2 garden tractors for sale. Both are MTD made. He wants 200$ for both. One runs and the other has cylinder wall damage and theres no mowerdeck for either one but one has wheel weights and a 3 point and the other just has tire chains. Is it worth the 200? That means trying to find a mowerdeck will be hard itself.

I haven't had one of those yet. But... I would pay $200 in a heart beat for them!

The 3pts are worth the asking price and someone will have a deck that you can get. Member" Halfscale" might have one for you.

That would be a find.  The orange one in running shape is a large GT.

Just the good running 16hp briggs is worth more than the asking price.

Just a few quick observations that would cover the purchase price: 2 sets of 3pt hitches, wheel weights, chains.

Mike, you will enjoy the 990, it also has a 2 speed trans axle with the hydro. Everything is shaft PTO driven.

I paid $350 for just ONE in non-running state, and another was bargain at $175, so seems about right, specially if running. There are two deck styles, the standard lift and the Quick Tach type depending on years. One I have only a snowblade for and no deck, other one had deck, but is rough, now removed. I see chains on one of these, no blade for it??

Well worth it!!! The one looks doable and you have the other one for parts

If your interested in parting out , you'll be able to make a nice profit, I know those wheel weights would look good on my White.

The dashes look very fixable and yea , I probably can hook you up with a good mower deck , if it's the early style hook up

Mike, you gotta be kidding me!  $200 for the pair is unbelieveable!  I assume you are already rolling in your truck with trailer to go get these?????

Awesome deal. Those are hard to find up here and usually demand a good price. A 3 point hitch on a tractor that large means you can do some serious work with rear attachments.

That's a great deal. The weight on the green one looks like it may be a Bolens wheel weight,

I believe you are right, at least the Bolens style.  It looks to be installed backwards to how they install ion a 12" rim.

The engine looks to be a swap out of a Simplicity maybe??? If you want to run a deck make sure to see if the guy has the PTO assembly and pulley as I don't see it on the tractor.

I have manuals for these on PDF... they may be here on the Manuals Forum as Well.

The red one is very similar to the White 1650 I just sold... great machine!  About 9" of ground clearance.  Plus, if the rear wheels on the green one are 12", the hubs and wheels should fit the red one so you could put a 12" high profile tire on it instead of trying to find 15" turf tires.

Using my White 1650 to plow and till a garden was so much easier than using a geared transmission tractor... I'll never go back if I can help it.

Thanks everyone Here's part of the update. There's no attachments for these except a back blade for the 16hp 3 point. He did manage to find the hood and a few other items for the green so I pretty much have 2 complete tractors. Neither run unfortunately but nothing I cant look into :D thanks everyone for the kind comments from what I see this is a real work horse and super heavy!
