Have the twin K engine in my D-18 with a round air cleaner on it, like many other K series have. BUT, the mark under hood looks like it should be bigger around. Mine is now 2" x 7" cover. The round mark on hood is 8" diameter. SO, is it wrong cleaner or just the hood and engine move around enough to make it that much bigger?  There is one on epay right now for this tractor and might bid if they get back to me on size.  Maybe I'm just dreamin' here?

Are you asking about the Automatic18 or the D-180 Air filter. Wheel Horse never made a D-18.

I'm no Wheel Horse expert by any means, but I knew I had never heard of such a model as a D-18.  Couldn't find anything about such a model either.

Darn You Guys!   It is officially an 18 Automatic, from 73, first year. It is beginning of the D series.  I only call it a D-18 just to let you know it is a "D" series/size. So There, you have model, %$#$@!   Now, one on epay  IS for the D-180, think it is mostly same as mine, just wanted to know diameter of the tin cover. Mine looks small, but w/out measurement of the one on epay, can't really tell if any bigger or not. Kinda thinkin' now it is NOT and I'm wasting electrons putting this post up!  :D

GL., I'm not trying to pick on you, I just don't want any new members getting the wrong info about any model of tractor. That is one of the great things WE Moderators hear from new members is that they got the correct information here at GTtalk and that they don't worry about being mislead like on of those other places around the web. If you read any of the other threads here you will see that everyone here tries to keep the info correct. .

That's why I welcome being corrected myself when I post wrong info, so as not to mislead anyone down the wrong road.

The Housing, the Housing, not the filter is the part in question. Mine is standard 2" thick Kohler, just like on most K engines. I can see the larger filter underneath it when mounted. The one on epay is the same one I have. Other D series have a thicker 3" housing top, guess maybe the diameter is same as thinner. THAT housing is what I want. Would buy whole thing with carb mount side too, but really only need the TOP housing.
