003.JPG 005.JPG Just got a Ford LGT 145 with 50 inch mower deck for $300.
Amazing what PO's do to these tractors!!
And, look at the bumper --quite the cow-catcher, huh?
Haven't tried to get it running, PO said it did when parked a couple of years ago.
Plan on using this for parts to rebuild my Ford LGT 165 "Dream Machine".
Bought it mostly for the mower deck, which is in pretty good shape, but will refurbish before I use it.
Will keep you all posted with pictures.

Nice looking 145. At least the bumper protected the grille on it! LOL!

Congrats! A solid looking tractor. Those open sided Fords really look nice when restored and are good workers as well.

Nice tractor. I kinda like the bumper idea and may do one on my LGT125 in the plow mounting holes on the front. Are the gas tank covers available anywhere? Good Luck, Rick

The gas tank is covered by the hood. Only the cap is exposed. Are you thinking of the battery flip up cover? There is a thread somewhere of someone making reproductions of the battery covers.

Joe

P.s. I'd like to have that front bumper!

You are right. I was thinking of the battery cover. I need one for my LGT120 if I can find a crankshaft and a fender set for it. Thanks, Rick

Did you buy that in Windsor? Looks like the one that sat on Dunbar rd. I went up to Whitney Point to buy the 83 lgt 165 when I saw that one sitting. She sure looked good, great score!!

Not a bad looking tractor BUT my Shins hurt just from looking at that bumper. :rolling:

I bang my shins into something atleast once a week.Messed up the left shin a couple days ago when I was shootin a possim out of the garden and forgot about the lawn cart on the way back to the house. The darn hitch jumpped out and bit me. :wallbanging:

Those are really nice cutting decks.

T. Guiles:

Yup, that's the one.

Did you get the one in Whitney Point?

Looks like we may be in competition for these machines.

Like you said, these are hard to find in this area

Gotta take what you can get

Thanks to everyone for the comments.
Thought the price was right.
Tires seem almost new, no weather checking and all hold air.
Lots of surface rust, but no rust thru.
Mower is in good condition
Lots of usable parts.
Again, thanks to all

Thats too funny!!! yeah, I bought the 81 up in W.P. The guy wanted 500 for it with a huge snow plow and 48 inch deck, but I think I scored for 425. she runs great, don't smoke and plenty of power. only problem is I think this guy had his masters degree in red neck cobbing so I've got some work to do. Hey this competition isn't because I went to school in Tioga Center is it? lmao!!!! I'll make you a deal, you can have everything west of Owego and I'll take the east half of the state. No that's a great score. what year is your 165 your working on and what do you need for it?
