i use my tablet pc for everything now. i stopped using my desktop a couple months ago. it seens the more it works, the hotter it gets. its running Ubuntu 12.04

the other nite i was doing some pics, on facebook and watching videos on youtube and noticed that it was running really hot. so i did a search on how to make homemade cooling fans for it. i came across a site and after i seen all i needed i thought , i got everything to do this. today i got all the things together and put it all together.

the parts needed are:

1 old usb cable

old working cpu fans

wire cutters

black tape

here are pics of the finished product

I'll bet the heatsink on the CPU is full of dust. I have yet to see one that isn't.

Aren't most tablets sealed and don't have fans at all. They rely on conduction and radiation from the outside case to cool them.

It's his desk top that over heats.

Thanks DS, I'm sure there are some kind of cooling device in all the tablets since a processor usually puts out quite a bit of heat and it has to be cooled someway.
